HOW TO MAKE SAMGYEOPSAL

 


"Samgyeopsal" a korean dish means "pork belly" and i will teach you how to make this mouth-watering dish today


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 kilogram pork belly, or sukiyaki
  • 3/4 cup Korean BBQ sauce
  • 1 bowl (or more) perilla leaves or any type of lettuce.
  • Cooked rice.
  • Soybean paste.
  • Sesame oil.
  • Garlic cloves (optional)



  • STEP 1
    The first thing to do is to soak the meat in a mixture of oil, wine, spices, or similar ingredients in order to flavour or soften it. 
    So here we will generously cover the meat in BBQ sauce.
    Allow it to soak for at least 1 to 2 hours, but preferably overnight for the best absorption of flavor.






    STEP 2

    After soaking the pork belly, we can now move to the next part...Grilling!

    I personally recommend the use of indoor grill because of the convenience it provides and if you don't have a grill at all, you can use an ordinary pan, they are all good.Heat up the grill and place the soaked pork belly strips on the heated grill,Cook each side for approximately 3 minutes. The meat should be golden brown, and the sugar from the BBQ sauce should caramelize.


    STEP 3

    The last step of course is to serve and enjoy the grilled pork belly. The best thing to do is to use the same Korean BBQ sauce you used for soaking the meat as a dipping sauce, Yummy.

    The traditional way to eat samgyupsal-gui involves making lettuce wraps with tasty fillings inside.
