WELCOME TO KOREA


Korea is a small fascinating country in the continent Asia and I firmly believe you can’t spend time there and not fall in love with their places and culture especially.

As much as we love watching the k-pop idols and their actors, do we really know the countries secret to producing such talented, beautiful, respectful and healthy folks?.

First thing in producing wonderful citizens are the traditions and I’m informing you on their festivals.


SAKURA SEASON (SPRING FLOWER FESTIVAL):



     

This is the season to enjoy one of God’s given gift “flowers” where we appreciate the beauty of nature. This festival creates the perfect dating spot and outing for couples and friends, singing contests, music performances, flower watching and other activities are done to entertain the visitors. According to foreigners the festival is said to have a magic touch.


JEJU FIRE FESTIVAL (PLAY WITH FIRE, YOU WON’T GET BURNED):


This season is celebrated over 3 days in late February and early March annually. As you see the beautiful island of Jeju is “on fire” literally to welcome the new year and pray for happiness, good health, and prosperity. This festival symbolizes the ancient ritual of burning old grass to get rid of vermin.

 

BORYEONG MUD FESTIVAL (A MESS WITH A SENSE):


Nothing is more crazy than intentionally diving into the mud but korea seems to make this crazy thing actually not crazy. This festival started with the goal of promoting the benefits of mineral rich mud and this has turned into a field for creating happiness and excitement for all. This season holds from 16th-25th July.

 

SEOUL LANTERN FESTIVAL (MAKING PAPER FIREPROOF):


Formerly known as Jinju Namgang Yudeung festival is one of oldest yet beautiful festivals in korea that brings their unique culture to life. The native are specially known for making outstanding lanterns and have communicated the knowledge to the world abroad. This tradition was birthed in 1592 by the citizens lighting the lanterns to avoid Japanese troops from commuting the Namgang river during the Japanese invasion period.
